The Cost of Higher Education - Most Expensive Colleges

The price just keeps rising, and for some, the prices will keep getting higher. No, we’re not talking about taxes or insurance rates…we’re talking about college. Most of you have already hit that hurdle, but that doesn’t mean that an annual tuition is a thing of your past.
The annual Forbes report on America’s most expensive college was released yesterday, putting Sarah Lawrence College in Bronxville, New York at top with $57,600 a year. Think that’s extreme? They’re not alone. Trailing close behind is Columbia University in New York at $54,400 a year, Bard College at $54,275 in New York’s Hudson River Valley, Wesleyan University at $53,976 in Connecticut and Vanderbilt University at $53,660 in Nashville Tennessee.
Since last year the average annual cost of tuition has risen by nearly five percent, making it one of the most expensive times to be sending the kids away. Still, some of the smaller colleges indicate that a higher percentage than anywhere else hand out financial aid (including 65 percent of Sarah Lawrence students).
